TestDaF
Reviewed by Sajid ur Rehman— MSc Physics candidate, University of MünsterLast updated 20 July 2026
TestDaF (Test Deutsch als Fremdsprache) is a standardised German-language exam widely accepted for admission to German-taught university programmes. It tests reading, listening, writing and speaking, and reports levels roughly equivalent to B2–C1.
Why it matters for applicants from Pakistan, India & Bangladesh
For German-taught degrees you'll usually need TestDaF or DSH — English-taught programmes may not require it, so check each programme.
